ShipHero now lets you populate product identifier fields by SKU in the WMS, supporting compliance for shipments into the EU ahead of enforcement starting November 1, 2026.
Merchant Product ID, Manufacturer Product ID, and Non-Standardized Manufacturer Product ID are available on every SKU under Inventory > Products. Where this data already exists in your account, ShipHero sets the Merchant and Manufacturer Product IDs for you. Review your EU-bound SKUs now so your data is ready when enforcement begins.

The three fields
  • Merchant Product ID:
Your own product identifier. In most cases, your existing SKU.
  • Manufacturer Product ID:
A standardized code such as GTIN, EAN, UPC, or ISBN, if the product has one.
  • Non-Standardized Manufacturer Product ID:
A manufacturer-assigned reference code. Required on every EU-bound SKU that has no standardized code.
๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Four ways to add or update the data
  • Individual edit:
Go to Inventory > Products and edit any product.
  • Bulk edit:
Go to Inventory > Bulk Edit, or select products in Inventory > Products, to update many SKUs at once.
  • Public API:
Set and update fields through the Product endpoints. Ideal if you sync from a PIM, ERP, or supplier feed.
  • ShipHero MCP:
Let your AI assistant look up manufacturer references and write them to the right SKUs. A strong fit for backfilling Non-Standardized Manufacturer Product IDs across a large catalog.
